Bounce House
ABOUT
This map is called Bounce House as it is supposed to represent the theme of an actual "Bounce House" in a multiplayer, whacky, fun, arena shooter.
Level Features/Mechanics
Description
Here are video showcases of my mechanics made for the Bounce House Map; an arrow indicator, a turbo pad, a jump pad, and a directional pad.
Challenges
When I changed the map to be more of a bounce house instead I had to begin making level-based mechanics, this was one of my biggest challenges as I was new to creating blueprints when using Unreal Engine, I decided only to create 5 features but those features would be used throughout all of the levels in different and creative ways.
Level Design
Description
This level was designed and created by me, this is a map with an upper section and a lower section. The theme of this map is to feel like the players are in a "Bounce House" of their own.
Challenges
When it came to designing the level I was having a hard time with how I could incorporate bouncy platforms or even a floor for the entire map. The other difficulty I had was creating more ways for the player to move around more freely without being constrained by the speed of the tanks themselves, I had to end up creating splines and that was a very difficult process especially when trying to get the right measurements for the player to flow through the pipes easily.
